My absolute favorite math rock release of all time. Its sound is unique and masterfully realized, never indulging too far into math rock noodlery, and infusing electronic elements in such ways that complement the guitar and drum work perfectly, whether by compiling them atop everything to boost the energy, or taking over for the other instruments entirely to create passages of soothing synth arpeggios. Rhododendron in particular has come to embody everything I could ever desire in math rock.
Favorite track: Rhododendron.
For fans of bands like Three Trapped Tigers, this is an exuberant and thrilling listen that blends everything great about upbeat electronica with the tapping and melodically technical side of math-rock.
Favorite track: ÅSTRØ.
